The 1932 Ford is one of the most recognizable hot rods on the planet. Cars have been customized since they were created, but Model As took on a whole new life as Hot Rods starting in the late 1930s.

This particular completely restored and modified 1932 Ford Roadster we have here at Skyway Classics is a stunning example of what a custom car can become, is a stellar showpiece, and it is truly a rolling work of art!

Everywhere you look this Ford will impress you with a custom touch or a subtle styling cue from the paint job, custom frame, V8 small block Chevrolet engine, custom interior, to the fat tires and mag wheels, it makes a statement, and it only has less than 700 miles on it since it was built!

Mechanical

The engine in our street rod is a 350 cubic inch small block Chevrolet that has been professionally built and uses all new high quality components. Visual improvements include aluminum cylinder heads, dual four barrel intake manifold and carbs, aluminum pullies, custom oil pan, chrome alternator, reworked fan shroud and radiator, polished aluminum finned valve covers and spark plug wire covers, custom dual-quad air cleaner, Jet Hot coated headers leading to dual exhausts that are also coated an ending with stainless tips.

The 700R4 overdrive transmission is completely rebuilt and takes the power back to a prepped and painted body color 9" Ford rear axle that completes the driveline.

The custom built frame is a strengthened replica using specially made crossmembers and brackets to mount updated driveline and suspension components and consists of a lowered tube front axle located by a transverse spring and four bar system and the rear axle is mounted using aluminum overs and a four bar system as well.

Panhard bars are also used on the front and rear. All chassis components have been chromed and/or polished. The braking system consist of a dual master cylinder with power booster leading to four wheel Baer disc brakes with 13" rotors and polished and calipers. The brake lines as well as the fuel lines from the new stet fuel tank are stainless steel. All steering linkage leading from the steering box are new and chromed.

Interior

The interior is absolutely stunning! The custom made bench seat is covered with grey leather in a tasteful pleated pattern. Sculpted side panels with built in arm rests are covered in grey as well and feature billet handles. The floor is covered in the material with custom made fitted carpet mats.

The body color dash has seven white faced Auto-Meter gauges (tachometer, oil pressure, water temperature, voltmeter, fuel and a clock). A lower custom made dash and all cover houses the Clarion CD player.

Other Clarion components are hidden or flush mounted in the trunk including a video screen, an amplifier, a six CD changer, two 41/2" three way front speakers, two three-way rear speakers and one 10" subwoofer.

A billet steering with matching leather insert is mounted on a polished aluminum Ididit column with a Lokar floor shifter and hand brake have been mounted and trimmed floor pedals and rear view mirror have been added as well. The trunk area including under the trunklid is finished using the same leather.

Exterior

Ours has a fiberglass body that features a smooth firewall and floor and bear claw safety door latches. The louvred hood top and radiator shell are steel as the fitment of the hood, doors and trunk lid are consistent throughout.

This body was professionally prepped before being painted with House of Color violet pearl base coat clear coat and a new stainless grille insert has been installed with small chrome halogen headlamps and frenched neon lamps have been installed as well.

It has a Duvall style windshield with new safety glass, Front and rear polished stainless bars to protect each end of the car.

Every area of this vehicle is show quality. This is a first class production of a typical high tech 1932 Ford roadster.
