1966 Chevrolet Impala SS
Why This Car Is Special
The Chevrolet Impala was a full-size car built by Chevrolet and was Chevrolet’s popular flagship passenger car and among the better selling American-made automobiles in the United States.
The Impala SS, like the one we have for sale here at Skyway Classics, was always Chevy’s performance flagship, available with any number of V8 powerplants to make them just about anything a buyer wanted.
Mechanical
Our SS is a real deal SS as verified by the #16837 Vin number on the Trim Tag. Open the hood and you will see a much-modified 355cid small block Chevrolet engine packing a lot of speed and accessory parts that sits in a very clean and detailed engine compartment too.
It has a performance carburetor, chrome aluminum intake, chrome Chevrolet open element air cleaner, grey Chevrolet logo valve covers, tube headers, performance HEI distributor and spark plug wires, chrome alternator, power steering, power brakes, a dual exhaust system underneath.
It rides on racing wheels and black-wall performance tires that give it a performance look.
Interior
Our Impala features a full-sized luxury feeling with its twin black front bucket seats and matching rear bench. Black carpets, door panels, and other soft parts look as new with the great dash housing a factory gauge cluster complemented by a chrome tachometer on the steering column and a set of auxiliary dials hanging underneath, factory SS Impala steering wheel and logos, and a chrome console housing the floor shifter completing the original SS look.
Exterior
Our Impala is finished in the correct factory code on the Trim Tag too, Madeira Maroon and the paint looks very nice on this two-door with the quarters that are straight, doors and deck lid fits right, as well as the chrome front and rear bumpers, trim, bright chrome and that sets off the maroon paint.
Conclusion
Full-sized cars like the true 1966 Impala SS we have here at Skyway Classics have always been collector car favorites and this one runs as good as it looks.
