The Cobra for 2001 was able to deliver the promised horsepower by using an aluminum block with revised cylinder heads and the performance was improved without sacrificing weight.

The 4.6-liter 90-degree DOHC 32-Valve V-8 engine in the SVT Mustang Cobra produced 320 horsepower @ 6000 rpm and torque of 317 lbs.-ft. @ 4750 rpm. Ours sits in a very clean and detailed engine compartment too.
These Mustangs also get good fuel economy when backed with a 5-speed manual transmission for improved fuel economy and the fun factor. Equipped with all the power options you could want, this Mustang is sure to please. The suspension features gas-charged MacPherson strut type with separate 500 lb./in. spring on lower arm, 29mm tubular stabilizer bar and on the rear Multi-link independent, steel upper control arm, fixed toe-control tie rod, aluminum spindle, gas-charged tubular shock absorber, 470 lb./in. coil spring, and a 26mm tubular stabilizer bar.
Interior
A rich two-tone gray/silver interior accents the silver exterior nicely and gives a classy look. These Mustangs have a dual cockpit feel with the rounded dash and the center console splitting the cab. SVT also gave our Cobra a new, more-supportive set of bucket seats and a 6-disc in-dash CD player, clear easy to read gauges and the center console with storage and cupholders make this a comfortable driver.
Exterior
The great silver paint is accented with a black convertible roof and the blacked grill and tri-bar taillights harken back to the Mustangs of the 60s. Add in the Sport mirrors, a spoiler and dual exhaust coming through the rear valance and those features give this car a muscle car feel.
