1977 Chevrolet Corvette
Why Is This Car Special
The Chevrolet Corvette (C3) was a sports car that was produced by Chevrolet for the 1968 through 1982 model years. Engines and chassis components were mostly carried over from the previous generation, but the body and interior were new.
The restored 1977 Chevrolet Corvette we have here at Skyway Classics is a real head turner with its bright gloss Medium Red paint and white bucket seat interior.
The “Stingray” script, seen on front fenders since 1969 disappeared that year but new cross-flags emblems showed up on the 77 on the gas door.

Mechanical
Ours has the stock engine for 1977 which was a 350 cubic inch small-block Chevy L48 engine which had a horsepower rating of 180 horsepower. This engine was paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission and has a chrome open performance air cleaner, chrome valve covers, aluminum intake and 4-barrel carb, cast iron factory exhaust manifolds, factory chrome ignition shielding, air conditioning, power steering, power disc brakes, and sits in a very clean, painted, and detailed engine compartment.
All the gases go out the rear via a dual exhaust system. The Corvette rides on correct factory polished mag wheels and spinners with Dunlop raised white letter Radial GT Qualifier tires.
Interior
1977 saw the steering column repositioned 2 inches closer to the dashboard to allow a more "arms out" position for the driver. The great interior has twin white bucket seats and door panels, the red redesigned center console permitted the stereo radio to fit in it, has a pad on it and auxiliary gauges, the factory red dash has all the Corvette gauges and controls, it has red carpeting and floor mats as well as the red factory Corvette three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with the optional tilt-telescopic steering column as well.
Exterior
As stated earlier, the bright Medium Red paint makes this Corvette an attention getter. It has several features that made it different for 1977 like the windshield posts were now painted black for a “thin pillar” look and this was the final year of the "sugar scoop" tunneled roof-line and vertical back window.
The restored paint flows over the factory flared fenders, fiberglass front and rear bumpers, T-Tops, domed hood, and makes for a great presentation.
A Corvette milestone was reached during 1977 as Chevrolet had built a half million Corvettes since production began in 1953.
Conclusion
The 1977 Chevrolet Corvette we have at Skyway Classics will be an attention getter wherever you drive it to and has good power power and great handling to challenge you as a driver to drive it as it should be driven.
