Very Rare 1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubble-Top Resto-Mod 454
History The Chevrolet Impala is a full-size car built by Chevrolet for model years 1958–85, 1994–96, and since 2000 onwards. The Impala was Chevrolet's most expensive passenger model through 1965, and had become the best-selling automobile in the United States. The Impala was restyled on the GM B platform for the first time for 1961. The new body styling was more trim and boxy than the 1958–1960 models. Sport Coupe models featured a "bubbletop" roof line style for 1961.
Many early famous drag racers and NASCAR stars ran the 1961 Chevrolet Bubbletop to victories all thru the year. Even a song, "She's real fine, my 409" was written and sang by the Beach Boys, and a legend was born. Features & Options This Bubbletop is an original California car that has been meticulously restored and has many engine and suspension upgrades. It is painted in the exterior paint color of Cadillac White Diamond, with the V spear trim painted Turquoise Green. The rest of the trim and chrome front and rear bumpers are flawless.
If your gonna drive a legend, you better be able to back it up! And this car backs it up with a much modified 454 that has been punched out to 60 over and 496 cubic inches. It has performance parts including the flat tappet cam with 542 lift and 262 duration, heads, roller rockers, Scat Crank, headers and dual exhaust, aluminum intake, custom built Holley carb, chrome valve covers and air cleaner, serpentine belt system, performance ignition and distributor, electric fuel pump, electric cooling fan on the Griffin aluminum radiator. Air conditioning will cool your summer rides as well.
All that power is transmitted to the custom built Curry Enterprises Ford Nine-Inch rear end with Curry axles via a Turbo Hydro 400 3 speed automatic transmission. The car rides on great shocks with air shocks on the back and a Hotchkiss sports rear suspension. The 1961 rolls on 4 wheel disc brakes and performance tires mounted on Boyd Coddington wheels.
The interior is super with teal painted dash and Tilt steering wheel, nicely carpeted and the seats are upholstered in a woven cloth. It as an AM/FM Stereo with a CD Changer in the trunk, Vintage Air Conditioning, Viper alarm system, console and a performance shifter. It even has a custom finished trunk with a custom Chevrolet emblem.
