Why This Car Is Special

We have a super nice restored 1970 Chevrolet SS 454 convertible here at Skyway Classics with a 454 cubic inch monster factory big block engine, square port head, solid lift cam, but not the original engine, 3-speed automatic transmission, 12-bolt read end, and a dynamite looking color combination of blue paint, white interior, and a gorgeous white power convertible top!

Chevelle's are immensely popular cars and none are so much highly sought after as the 1970 model packing that big block 454 engine and it is not often that you will find a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 with those features and a white bucket seat interior, that has a lot of originality too and looks as it did when it was new..

Mechanical

Under the hood of this 1970 Chevelle SS is a 454 cubic inch engine with an aluminum intake, 4-barrel carb, square port head, solid lift cam, disc brakes up front with drums in the rear, exhaust headers flowing back to the dual exhaust, factory cowl-induction open air element air cleaner with chrome lid and 450 horse decal, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, and chrome valve covers.

The engine bay is highly detailed as is the chassis with the dual exhaust running out under the rear bumper thru chrome tips on each side, and the 3-speed automatic transmission that runs to a 12-bolt rear end.

Add in and the good grip of wide black sidewall tires mounted on the factory Chevrolet 5-spoke wheels, 12-bolt rear end, BF Goodrich raised white letter Radial TA tires, front and rear sway bars, and you get this big block which is a true driver's machine.

Interior

The restored white bucket seats with headrest and matching rear seat interior looks as new and everything looks correct and just like it came from the factory back in 1970.

It even has the pushbutton radio in the great factory dash housing the 6500 RPM tachometer and other gauges, chrome automatic shifter in the center console, air conditioning, power white convertible top, SS steering wheel, black carpet, SS black floor mats, white door panels, and black seat belts.

The result is a Chevelle SS that feels like a time piece as it is in excellent condition top to bottom.

Exterior

Our Chevelle is finished in great new Blue Paint flowing over the cowl induction hood with the white SS stripes and hood pins, slick panels, blacked-out grille, and the bulging fenders.

The chrome bumpers, wheel arch trim, Chevelle and SS 454 badging really look great and draw people to the car at shows or even gas stations, and even the chassis looks super clean too.

On top is the new super white convertible to round out the whole package.
