Mechanical

The Ford-sourced 351 cubic inch Windsor V8 that produced 175 horsepower and 286 lb-ft of torque when new and has just been rebuilt and retains the factory orange paint, 4-barrel carb, original valve covers and air cleaner assembly.

The SV-1 used suspension, steering, and braking components sourced from the AMC Hornet, including power-assisted front disc brakes.

It also has an aluminum radiator as power is sent to the rear wheels through a Ford FMX three-speed automatic transmission and a live rear axle while riding on factory 15″ Turbo Mag aluminum wheels and wearing 235/60 Firestone Fire Hawk Indy 500 tires.

Interior

The cabin features bucket seats that have been reupholstered in tan vinyl with a matching modified center console that is said to have been designed by Bricklin plant manager Terry Tanner.

Amenities include burl woodgrain dashboard trim, air conditioning, and a factory AM/FM stereo with an inset clock. The door actuation mechanisms have been replaced and now have electric activation with a fob.

A three-spoke steering wheel with a wrapped rim fronts a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer, while an ammeter and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are located in the center stack.

The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 15475k miles which we believe to be original.

Exterior

The body was refinished in Safety Orange and features black rocker panels and trim.

Features include pop-up headlights, air conditioning, replacement door mechanisms, and it all looks right and correct on this premium quality rare Bricklin SV-1.

Conclusion

“ Great experience. Contacted Al on car that I was interested in. I flew in and checked out car and all was well. He even fixed a few extra items that needed attention as well. He delivered car prompt and all was great. Would recommend him for any of your classic car purchases. ”
