1966 Ford Thunderbird Blue Convertible
Why This Car Is Special
Ford's Thunderbird went through a lot of changes through the years. From the small birds of the 50s to the Super and Turbo Coupes of the 80s. They have filled every need, be it a sports car, muscle car or luxury vehicle, and they have done it all well.
The very nice 1966 Ford Thunderbird Blue 390 cubic inch Convertible we have here at Skyway Classics is a much larger, higher optioned, big block cruiser, than its predecessors ever were and looks fantastic with its Silver Mink over blue and black convertible top configuration.

Ours has the 300 horsepower 390 cubic inch big block V8 engine under the hood and is backed by an automatic transmission shifted on the column. This Thunderbird has a very clean engine compartment with the engine wearing the factory Ford Blue paint on its air cleaner assembly, valve covers, block, head, and intake, as well as having a lot of features like power steering and power brakes, and air conditioning.
It starts, runs, and drives like new and is visually in the state that it left the factory in, including a very tidy presentation underneath on the chassis and running gear.
Interior
Ours has the all black leather interior featuring dual front leather bucket seats with a floor center console, matching black door panels, full rear matching leather wrap around backseats that always make these mid-sixties Thunderbirds a crowd favorite.
It has the iconic swing-away steering column with a sporty factory black steering wheel, power locks, push-button radio, full factory gauge cluster, power top, air conditioning, power seats, black carpet and black floor mats, as well as miles of chrome trim that is in excellent condition everywhere you look.
These cars are comfortable and incredibly stylish on the inside and were way ahead of their time, plush this one being incredibly loaded with those accessories.
Exterior
Our 1966 Bullet Thunderbird, as they were known, is a streamlined aerodynamic car that is painted in a delightful color scheme of Silver Mink with its black convertible top, and chrome emblems.
It is a large car, but the sharp edges and long low body make it look like it's moving, even when sitting still, especially with the rear wheel well skirts!
This Ford has white wall tires on the painted factory steel wheels with factory Thunderbird deluxe hub caps that give it an upscale look. The paint is in great shape, as is the chrome, trim and top.
Conclusion
The 1966 Ford Thunderbird Blue Convertible we have here at Skyway Classics represent a style from the sixties that you can no longer get from modern cars, long low, sleek, muscular, and luxurious, all in a luxury sports car.
These Thunderbirds don't last long on the market and this one will be no exception. If you're looking for a mid-sixties T-bird to call your own, give this car a close look.
