1947 MECURY EIGHT CONVERTIBLE

What Make This Vehicle Special

Mercury is a defunct division of the American automobile manufacturer Ford Motor Company.

With that in mind, the 1947 Mercury Convertible we have at Skyway Classics is not your typical Merc. It has had a Total Frame-Off Restoration and looks as original and even been used in 2 Hollywood Movies and 4 TV Commercials including one with Elly May Clampett!

It runs the Flat Head V8 Engine, 3-speed Transmission, full Leather Interior and tan convertible top.

Mechanical Specs

Almost every piece of this 1947 Mercury Convertible has been redone including the Flat Head V8 Engine with its carb, black factory air cleaner, generator, and those iconic Flatheads that you see when you look at the engine.

It does have a performance coil, a black stock looking battery in the battery box, and is backed by the 3-speed Transmission while riding on its yellow painted factory looking steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and the wide-whitewall tires.

Interior

No money was spared with the complete restored Full Leather Interior either. It starts with maroon leather seats and matching door panels, brown painted factory dash with the correct gauges, controls, and trim, factory tan steering wheel, three-speed shifter on the steering column, tan carpeting, as well as the tan convertible top.

Exterior

The Merc has a pleasing subtle shade of yellow paint over the graceful full fendered body, nice chrome front and rear bumpers, factory brightwork and trim, exquisite hood emblem, door handles, and Mercury badging.

Conclusion

The original looking restored 1947 Mercury Convertible movie star car was a great car in its day, but this one we have at Skyway Classics is so well done, the early ones pale in comparison.

This Merc needs to be seen to be believed and you will love it at first site.

Great Experience -
“ Great experience. Contacted Al on car that I was interested in. I flew in and checked out car and all was well. He even fixed a few extra items that needed attention as well. He delivered car prompt and all was great. Would recommend him for any of your classic car purchases. ”
