1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

Why This Car Is Special

You might remember the Camaro was the car that you could see at the IROC races back in the day with the worlds best drivers. The 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z we have here at Skyway Classics is a great example of what Chevrolet produced stock, and then what an owner might modify later.

This Camaro is going to get you a lot of attention as soon you leave your driveway with its red paint, IROC-Z logos, and fat tires on alloy wheels.

Mechanical

When you lift the hood you will see the 305 cubic-inch V8 that looks exceptionally well-preserved. The fuel injection makes this motor smooth on the highway and quick from a standstill. It wears the factory valve covers, ram air intake and air cleaner system, factory exhaust, and all the IROC-Z enhancements like the sports suspension, power steering, a limited-slip rear end, four-wheel power disc brakes, cruise control, and a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.

It rides on the factory 5-spoke wheels and high performance tires and emits a great sound out the rear muffler.

Interior

The grey bucket seat cloth interior is in good shape with its tweed/plain look, matching grey carpet and door panels, factory dash and gauge package, factory steering wheel, center console with the automatic shifter, grey with red Z28 logo floor mats, stereo radio system, air conditioning, and the matching rear seat.

Exterior

The Camaro has all the great factory lines it was famous for in red factory paint with the IROC -Z and Z-28 badges and emblems, rear integrated spoiler, plus a great scooped hood that really sets the car apart from a stock one.

A newly required Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) was installed on the Camaro. 1986 was the only year to see this attached to the outside hatchback glass on base model Sport Coupes, Z28s and IROC-Zs except for 1987 base models that did not have a spoiler.

Conclusion

The 1986 Camaro IROC-Z Z28 we have at Skyway Classics is a great muscle car you can drive and have fun in and won’t break the bank in the process. It is fun, fast, and affordable.
