The Land Rover was a series of British off-road vehicles. They have four-wheel drive and were developed in the 1980s from the original Land Rover series which was launched at the Amsterdam Motor Show in April 1948.

People who have grown up with Land Rovers know they make a style statement, the iconic Land Rover is now also a “cool” ride.

We have a very nice restored 2004 Land Rover Discovery 2 here at Skyway Classics that epitomizes that statement and takes it even farther with the engine being swapped for a new LS Chevrolet engine, rebuilt transfer case and transmission, and Fox Custom Suspension.

Mechanical

Our Land Rover sports a transplanted LS Chevrolet V8nengine paired with a rebuilt automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. It has injection, power steering and brakes, air conditioning, heavy-duty suspension, an ARB front bumper with a Warn winch, an intake snorkel, the OBD port in the glovebox with a custom LS tune on it, and auxiliary lighting.

The axles look big enough for a semi-tractor and it has a Fox Custom Suspension, with adjustable Coil Over Shocks and H.D. suspension components throughout. Black spoke wheels with new black sidewall off-road tires give it an updated look and improved rock-climbing capabilities.

Interior

Inside our cabin features rich Bison Leather front bucket seats with matching door panels and rear seats, black floor mats, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, stereo radio system, leather/wood grain wrapped multifunction steering wheel, factory dash and gauges, power window, and there's a center console between the seats.

The cargo bay between the seats offers room and all that open area makes it bright and airy inside with great visibility.

Exterior

Looking at the lines of the Land Rover, you know it was built for a purpose, not to say there isn't beauty in the functionality, because nobody has yet come up with anything that goes through the brush better than this.

This 2004 Land Rover Discovery II S is finished in a dark tan with black trim, roof rack, ARB front bumper with an integrated brush guard and Warn winch, auxiliary lights, an intake snorkel, a rear ladder, a rear-mounted spare tire, steel rear bumper, tinted windows, LED headlights, dark tinted windows, and tail light guards.
