Under the hood is the 200 cubic inch inline-four cylinder engine looks just like it did back when brand new in 1929. The engine looks great painted in the green and looks period correct with its downdraft carburetor, cooling fan, electrical system, and all sitting in a restored, cleaned, and detailed engine compartment.
It is backed up by a manual transmission and can still cruise around on the street as it did back them. It rides on yellow painted spoke wheels with wide whitewall tires.
Interior
The Model A was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls with conventional clutch and brake pedals, throttle, and gearshift and the Model A was the first car to have safety glass in the windshield.
Inside our restored A is a clean and neat brown bench seat that looks great and is very comfortable as well, has the factory gauges and controls in the middle of the dash, chrome shifter, black floor mat, black steering wheel, and matching side and door panels.
The rear “rumble seat” in the back is iconic and it still has the chrome step-up that you need to use to get into it.
Exterior
Our 1929 Sedan is painted period correct too in a 1929 Ford tan color that is set off by the contrasting black fenders to make a very stylish looking paint scheme.
It has a beautiful manual folding soft top, rumble seat, rear-mounted spare tire, and chrome bumpers. This is one highly detailed and exquisitely appointed Model A, exemplary of how nicely equipped these early Fords could be.
The restoration has a very complete look with the twin front headlights, iconic grill and hood emblem, chrome front bumpers, mirrors, and factory horn in the front.
It even has the spare tire in the back and has a great chrome rear bumper too. You won’t be disappointed with how it goes down the road and the looks you get when you do.
Conclusion
The 1929 Model A Roadster we here at Skyway Classics is a great restoration of a fun car and driver to take on a cruise or to a show.
