It now runs a period correct Medium Riser 427 cubic inch, as shown in the pics with the engine casting code C7AE-A, dual quad powerhouse reminiscent of the early Ford muscle cars in the early 60's that saw the rise of drag-strips and circle track racing.

American auto manufacturers were finding out that the more cubic inches and pure horsepower they could put in a muscle car, the more they would win on the racetrack and the street, hence the more cars they could sell. And that is what we have in our 1963 Ford.

Our 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 has a big block, period correct, Medium Riser 427 cubic inch dual quad engine under the hood topped by a two 4-barrel performance carburetor system topped with the finned aluminum 427 open element air cleaner, aluminum intake, chrome 427 valve covers, factory cast iron exhaust headers, modified electrics, high performance spark plug wires, and sits in a very period correct clean, painted, and detailed engine compartment.

It is shifted by the 4-speed manual gearbox that handles the big block's horsepower and out the HD rear end. The undercarriage shows the details like the dual exhaust, and H.D. suspension as it rides on factory black painted steel wheels and poverty hubcaps with black sidewall tires, to give it that correct Super Stock drag racer or NASCAR stock car look!

Interior

The interior has a lot of originality and looks so good with the black twin bucket seats and matching rear full seat, floor console with 4-speed shifter, black carpets, chrome-accented door panel, factory black steering wheel, as well as the dash with all the factory gauges, pushbutton radio, tachometer, and accessory gauges under the dash.

Exterior

Our Ford is painted in Ford Raven Black and looks as sinister as it did back in 1963, but the glossy black paint is surely worlds better than it was back then.

Brightwork includes dual door-mounted mirrors, side trim, and bumpers, and 427 fender badges look sharp. It looks just as much of a sleeper car today as it would have back then.

Ford gave this car great styling with crisp lines and those big, round tail lights that reflected the '60s enthusiasm for the jet age. Even the trunk looks as new with the correct mats and full size spare tire with its own cover.

Conclusion
