Mechanical
Under the hood of this 1970 Chevelle SS is its CTX coded 350 horse 396 cubic inch V8 engine painted in the correct Chevrolet factory orange paint with a lot of factory correct parts on it like the four-barrel carburetor, correctly decaled factory type chrome valve covers, black cowl induction air cleaner assembly with the cowl hood, power steering and power brakes with factory front disc brakes, air conditioning, and factory cast iron exhaust headers.
The engine bay is highly detailed as is the chassis with the dual exhaust running out under the rear bumper thru chrome tips on each side, sway bars front & rear, and the automatic transmission that runs to a 12-bolt rear end.
Add in the good grip of wide BF Goodrich Radial TA raised white letter tires mounted on the factory 5-spoke SS wheels and you get this big block which is a true driver’s machine.
Interior
The super nice white bucket seat with headrest and matching rear seat interior looks correct and like the original would have. Everything looks correct and just like it came from the factory back in 1970.
It has the stock Chevrolet black factory dash housing the optional U14 round gauge package that includes the tachometer, clock, all the factory controls and switches, an accessory gauge below, the “Stirrup” automatic shifter handle in the center console, tri-spoke SS steering wheel, matching black carpet, white door panels and rear seat to complete the factory look.
The result is a Chevelle SS that feels like a time piece as it is in excellent condition top to bottom.
Exterior
Our Chevelle is finished in stunning Dark Red paint flowing over the cowl induction hood with the white SS stripes, tethered factory SS hood pins, super straight factory panels, blacked-out grille, black rear rubber bumper panel, bulging fenders, and the hardtop profile.
The chrome bumpers, wheel arch trim, Chevelle and SS 396 badging really look great and draw people to the car at shows or even gas stations, and even the chassis looks super clean too.
