We have here at Skyway Classics a red 1989 Dodge Dakota rare convertible model with a black top, which was formally sold by Dodge from just the 1989 through 1991 model years.
The Dodge Dakota, known as the Ram Dakota for the final two years of production, is a mid-size pickup truck from Chrysler's Ram division.
For 1989, the unusual Dakota convertible featured a fixed roll bar and a simple manual top with only 2,482 were sold that year. Ours has that original engine with power steering, power brakes, and it looks as everything it had new is still in great shape today. It still looks factory stock in that engine compartment too.
Our Sport rides on the polished aftermarket 5-spoke mag wheels and blackwall tires and looks great with the black convertible top and black bed cover too.
Interior
Our Dakota has a red velour bench seat interior with factory dash housing all the original gauges, headliner, and door panels and also has power windows and door locks, cruise control, fog lights, floor mats, automatic transmission, and of course the manual convertible top.
The carpeting is also red and it has the factory three-spoke steering wheel on a tilt column, with aluminum trim on the dash.
Exterior
The Sport came with its red paint scheme with the black sport top that was built in partnership with American Sunroof Corporation and features a really simple design, consisting of a single metal roll bar and a basic manual top.
When the top is folded down, it hangs into the bed, supported by steel cables on either side.
