Why This Car Is Special
We have a 1971 Pontiac Trans Am Tribute here at Skyway Classics with a big block Pontiac V-8, engine, black interior, and dressed as a Trans Am.
Mechanical
Ours has the correct looking and Pontiac Blue painted big block V-8 engine and valve covers, backed by a 4-speed trans, and performance parts such as the aluminum intake, cast iron factory exhaust manifolds, performance carb, performance distributor and spark plug wires, and of course, the Trans Am Ram Air Shaker Scoop air cleaner assembly.
A dual exhaust system gives it a spectacular sound and the very clean and painted undercarriage shows a car that has been nicely maintained. It rides on Pontiac Rally II wheels and wear Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires at all four corners. It also benefits from the 10-bolt rear end, power brakes, fast ratio power steering, and the chrome dual splitter tips on the exhaust.
Interior
The all-black twin bucket seat interior looks as original and in excellent condition. It has the formula steering wheel, Rally gauges with clock and tach, engine-turned dash, stereo radio, matching black rear seat, black carpets and door panels, and the 4-speed shifter.
Exterior
The all-new second generation Firebird shape lends itself rather well to the Trams Am paint scheme and graphics as it is already long, lean, and low. Finished in beautiful White paint, with blue stripes down the center, it has a killer Trans Am look that's very appealing.
The Trans Am Shaker Hood Scoop makes it look like the engine is doing something special under the hood and actually does shake with the engine revs.
It has the factory spoilers front and rear, side vents, and white painted nose that give it a predatory stance. Proper Trans Am decals and the iconic “Bird” hood decal looks correct.
Conclusion
