1966 Silver Ford Mustang Fastback Resto Mod

Why This Vehicle is Special

The introduction of the Mustang in 1964 created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang's styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of competition including Camaro, Firebird, Cougar and others.

The restored 1966 Silver Mustang Fastback Resto Mod we have here at Skyway Classics came with an A code 289 cubic inch when it was new, but ours now has been restored and has a hotter and more powerful 5.0 Mustang powerplant, slick silver paint, and fat tires with Shelby-inspired silver mag wheels.

Mechanical

The 5.0 Mustang engine in ours puts out way more horsepower than the 289 cubic inch V8 engine did back then, and you can certainly feel and hear that power.

Ours has the fuel injection of course with a cold air filter system, performance dual exhaust system, modified electronics including the red Phillips spark plug wires, power steering and brakes, air conditioning, and it sits in the clean and detailed engine compartment looking and fitting in there great.

It also has tower braces and a crossover rod and you will love grabbing the gears in the manual transmission with the power going to the fat black sidewall tires with Shelby-inspired silver mag wheels.

Interior

The interior is all as it was when it was factory original with the twin black vinyl buckets up front and the matching rear seat, factory dash, and door panels, floor shifter in the floor console that has storage and cupholders, and black carpets.

You will like the wood and chrome Mustang sport steering wheel, instrument panel that has all the black-faced gauges, and features a 140-mph speedometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge and ammeter in five round dials, as well as a tachometer.

Exterior

On the outside, our Mustang wears the great silver paint job flowing over all the iconic fastback body lines and accented by the dual black/dark grey racing stripes, blacked out grille with the Mustang emblem prancing on the front end, and out back the unique fuel filler cap on the panel between the tail lamps, with dual exhaust exiting underneath.

It has the Shelby inspired hood scoop and side scoops to further give it that awesome race car inspired legend of a look.

Conclusion

The 1966 silver Mustang Fastback Resto Mod with the Mustang 5.0 engine we have here at Skyway Classics has great looks, outstanding performance, and these Mustangs have become as collectable as any other car, and probably more so in the future. If you are in the market for a super clean, sporty, great looking, as well as being a well-kept first generation Mustang, then look no further!

Great Experience -
“ Great experience. Contacted Al on car that I was interested in. I flew in and checked out car and all was well. He even fixed a few extra items that needed attention as well. He delivered car prompt and all was great. Would recommend him for any of your classic car purchases. ”
