Torino GT
1969 Ford Torino GT
Why This Vehicle is Special
The Ford Torino is an automobile that was produced by Ford for the North American market between 1968 and 1976 and was named after the city of Turin (Torino, in Italian), considered "the Italian Detroit".
The 1969 Ford Torino GT, like the one we have here at Skyway Classics, kicked off a very short two-year generation that gave us one of the coolest-looking muscle cars ever
This 1969 has a 351 cubic inch 4-barrel V8 engine under the hood that makes this one a more desirable muscle machine from a short run of intimidating coupes direct from Ford.
Features
1969 Ford Torino GT
351 cubic inch 4-barrel V8 engine 4-barrel carburetor Automatic transmission. Power steering Power 4-wheel disc brakes Dual exhaust Finned black valve covers Performance Ignition and spark plug wires Black finned open element air cleaner Bright Red paint Form-fitting chrome bumpers GT emblems Black Aftermarket Mag wheels GT Hood scoop Black bench seat interior Matching black door panels and rear matching seat Back carpet and floor mats Factory dash and gauges Aftermarket steering wheel Blacked-out hood Hood pins Front chin spoiler Rear NASCAR type spoiler
Mechanical
Ours looks sharp with its blacked-out engine compartment showcasing the modified and rebuilt 351 cubic inch 4-barrel V8 engine with everything looking sharper than it did as a muscle car back then.
It has power steering and 4-wheel disc brakes, an aftermarket radiator, and a very detailed engine bay, dual exhaust, finned black valve covers, performance ignition, coil, and spark plug wires, factory cast iron exhaust headers, matching black finned open element air cleaner, and a rebuilt transmission that has just been installed and shifts smoothly through the gears.
It sounds great and rides great too on wide black sidewall performance tires on blacked out spoked aftermarket mag wheels that give it a muscular NASCAR look.
Interior
Inside the interior looks basically stock and this car looks like it was produced as a radio delete car with no holes to cover up. It has the factory dash with all the stock gauges and controls with the exception of the hole for the clock which now has a tachometer and aftermarket accessory gauges below.
The original black vinyl interior is in great shape and needs nothing as the black bench seat, the stock door panels, seat and lap belts, automatic shifter on the column, and black carpet and makes for a very comfortable interior.
Pair that with power steering, aftermarket custom steering wheel, and a smooth shifting 3-speed automatic transmission and this 69 Ford Torino GT is fun for anyone to drive.
Exterior
Our 1969 Ford Torino GT has a striking paint job in bright red with Ford Torino GT badging and strips on the sides accenting the body lines. This GT is set off with black powder coated wheels 18'' in the front and 20'' in the rear which look awesome!
It has a blacked-out hood, hood scoop, hood pins, front chin spoiler, rear NASCAR type spoiler, all of the GT badging and stripes that give this car a muscle car and NASCAR stock car look with the rumble from the dual exhaust will have people wondering what's under the hood.
The front end on our Torino was more angular and meaner than a Chevelle, and the rear has a long fastback profile. They recessed the rear window and trunk so that air could flow to the well-integrated spoiler and all this was done to make a good NASCAR contender.
Conclusion
This 1969 Ford Torino GT that we have here at Skyway Classics has stunning good NASCAR looks, 351 V8 power, a lot of originality in the interior, that make it a combination you don't see too often in the classic car world, so don't miss out on this 1969 Ford Torino GT.
