Chevelle SS 396
1969 "True" Chevrolet SS 396 Daytona Yellow Convertible
Why This Car Is Special
The Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 are staples of the Chevy muscle car stable. These big bodied beauties are highly desirable and pack a mean punch when equipped with the venerable 396 big block Chevy engine.
But, throw in the factory Daytona Yellow #76 paint code, the correct JA code 396 engine casting #3955272, and then have a black bucket seat interior with the black convertible top on the 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 like the one we have here at Skyway Classics, and it hits it out of the ballpark!
The ONLY verifiable 1969 Chevelle SS 396 you can have is a #76 paint code Daytona Yellow SS, since they only painted SS's in that color, not Malibu's or regular Chevelle's! The Vin # will not tell you. And ours is verified by that paint code, maybe one of only a few in the country that you will ever find verified.
What could be the hallmark of any great collection is this 1969 Chevelle SS 396 4-speed convertible that has been so carefully and correctly restored that it belongs not just in, but at the very apex of, that category.
