1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454

Why This Car Is Special

We have a super nice 1970 Chevrolet SS 454 here at Skyway Classics with a real 454 cubic inch monster big block engine, automatic transmission, 12-bolt read end, and air conditioning!

It is not often that you will find a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 with those options and a black bucket seat interior that has a lot of originality too and looks as it did when it was new.

Chevelle's are immensely popular cars and none are so much highly sought after as the 1970 model packing that big block 454 engine.

Features

1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Real SS 454 cubic inch engine 12-bolt rear end Engine bay is highly detailed Power Steering Power Brakes Air Conditioning Sway bars front & rear Automatic transmission Factory cast iron exhaust headers Dual exhaust Aluminum Intake Performance carb BF Goodrich Radial TA raised white letter tires Factory 5-spoke SS wheels Black bucket seat with headrest and matching rear seat interior Chevrolet radio Factory dash housing the optional U14 round gauge package that includes tachometer Accessory gauge package Center console Tri-spoke SS steering wheel Matching black carpet, door panels, and rear seat Chevelle is finished in stunning Red paint Cowl induction hood with the black SS stripes Blacked-out SS grille SS badging

Mechanical

Under the hood of this 1970 Chevelle SS is its 360 horse 454 cubic inch V8 engine painted in the correct Chevrolet factory orange paint with a lot of factory correct parts on it like the four-barrel carburetor, cam and kit, correctly decaled factory type chrome valve covers and air cleaner, power steering and power brakes with factory front disc brakes, air conditioning, factory cast iron exhaust headers flowing back to the dual exhaust, and upgrades like the aluminum intake and cam and kit.

The engine bay is highly detailed as is the chassis with the dual exhaust running out under the rear bumper thru chrome tips on each side, sway bars front & rear, and the automatic transmission that runs to a 12-bolt rear end.

Add in and the good grip of wide BF Goodrich Radial TA raised white letter tires mounted on the factory 5-spoke SS wheels and you get this big block which is a true driver's machine.

Interior

The black bucket seat with headrest and matching rear seat interior is mostly original! Everything looks correct and just like it came from the factory back in 1970.

It even has the stock Chevrolet radio in the great black factory dash housing the optional U14 round gauge package that includes the tachometer, accessory gauge package, “Stirrup” automatic shifter handle in the center console, tri-spoke SS steering wheel, matching black carpet, door panels, and rear seat.

The result is a Chevelle SS that feels like a time piece as it is in excellent condition top to bottom. The trunk is also finished in grey trunk splatter and looks great.

Exterior

Our Chevelle is finished in stunning Red paint flowing over the cowl induction hood with the black SS stripes, super straight factory panels, blacked-out grille, rear panel, bulging fenders, and the fastback hardtop profile.

The chrome bumpers, wheel arch trim, Chevelle and SS 454 badging really look great and draw people to the car at shows or even gas stations, and even the chassis looks super clean too.

“ Great experience. Contacted Al on car that I was interested in. I flew in and checked out car and all was well. He even fixed a few extra items that needed attention as well. He delivered car prompt and all was great. Would recommend him for any of your classic car purchases. ”
