1970 Ford Torino 351 GT

Why This Vehicle is Special

This 1970 Ford Torino GT has a 351 cubic inch 4-barrel V8 engine under the hood that makes this one a desirable muscle machine from a short run of intimidating coupes direct from Ford.

The Ford Torino is an automobile that was produced by Ford for the North American market between 1968 and 1976 and was named after the city of Turin (Torino, in Italian), considered "the Italian Detroit".

The 1970 Torino GT like the one we have here at Skyway Classics kicked off a very short two-year generation that gave us one of the coolest-looking muscle cars ever.

Mechanical

Our Torino has a Ford 351 cubic inch 4-barrel V8 engine with everything looking as it did as a muscle car back then from the correct decals in the engine bay to the belts and hoses with some additional features like the manual transmission, power steering, power brakes, A/C, Dual exhaust, MT finned black valve covers, Performance Ignition and spark plug wires, and Chrome Open element air cleaner.

It sounds great and rides great too on wide black sidewall performance tires on chrome 5-spoke wheels.

Interior

Inside is more of that great vintage appearance. The black twin bucket seat interior has a great is well-preserved everywhere you look from the matching black door panels and rear matching seat, black carpet and floor mats, factory dash and gauges, manual shifter with T-handle on the floor, polished spoke steering wheel, and push-button radio that's still cranking out the tunes.

It also has a great looking trunk with the correct trunk mat, spare tire, and wheel and has plenty of space for anything you might want to put in it.

Exterior

Ours is painted in a gorgeous yellow with a wide hood scoop and full-length Laser stripes that really give this GT car that added amount of performance distinction.

The front end was more angular and meaner than a Chevelle, and the rear has a long fastback profile. They recessed the rear window and trunk so that air could flow to the well-integrated spoiler and all this was done to make a good NASCAR contender,

The blackout rear panel complete this high contrast look against the bright yellow paint with the form-fitting chrome bumpers, correct badging and GT emblems, dual color-keyed sport mirrors, and full width taillights with a honeycomb effect.

Conclusion

This 1970 Ford Torino GT that we have here at Skyway Classics were well received by the automotive press and were selected as the Motor Trend Car of the Year for 1970.

So if you are looking for a rare car in great condition with functioning components, look no further as this Torino GT is sharp.. If you have any questions, or if you are looking for more information, please call us at 941-254-6608.
