1956 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck
Why This Car Is Special
Early in the 50's, Chevrolet's trucks were called the Chevrolet Task Force. They were Chevrolet's successor to the Advance Design trucks. The Task Force Series ran from late 1955 through 1959.
The 1955 second series offered standard options and add-ons such as 12-volt electrical systems, the first V8, a 265 cubic inch engine, and fleet-side six-, seven-, and eight-foot length beds.
In 1956 they had a wider hood emblem, two-piece fender emblems that were mounted above horizontal fender line, and it was the last year for egg crate grille.
What we would like to show you at Skyway Classics is a restored and modified version of a 1956 Chevy 3100 truck. It is a beauty and has been upgraded with so many features we cannot list them all on this page.
Just by looking at the pictures you will see a beautifully restored body painted in blue/white, a new custom interior, custom wheels and performance tires and much, much more.
Mechanical
It is powered by a modified GM Crate 350 cubic inch small block Chevy engine rated at 330 horsepower and has Dart aluminum heads, Holley 750 cfm Dual-Feed performance carb, electric fan and thermostat, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, Milodon 7 quart oil pan, Griffin radiator, high flow fuel pump, Four wheel disc brakes, 10-bolt rear end with 3:73 rear gears, new gas tank and wiring.
Power goes to the automatic transmission with exhaust flowing out the rear, and rides on new Nitto tires and Ridler custom chome wheels.
Interior
The custom interior replaces the original bench seat with twin black high-back bucket seats and headrests from a Tahoe, seatbelts, B&M Ratchet shifter, body color matching door panels, black carpets, body painted dash uses Autometer custom white-face gauges in the original panel, tach and shift lite, A/C vents have been discreetly placed in the dash too, and a tilt column with a custom billet wood steering wheel adds to the 21st century feel.
Exterior
Painted a vivid yet period-perfect blue body with a contrasting white top, and this Cameo pickup represents the first of the pickups that were actually styled by designers rather than merely engineered.
As a result, they carry a lot of automotive-inspired design cues, so if you see a little bit of Shoebox Chevy in the design, the coincidence is purely intentional. The paint is in excellent condition and this truck gets a ton of attention anywhere you go. Enhancing the upscale look is the bright chrome bumpers and restored grille, black vinyl bed cover, step-side bed, chrome mirrors, and trim, all very nice.
They clearly focused on making it right and they've definitely succeeded in a very big way. This truck is very, very nice!
Conclusion
This 1956 Chevy 3100 pickup at Skyway Classics is truly a show truck and will win a trophy anywhere. Do not miss out on buying this truck by not coming here to see it!
This is a no-compromises truck built to very high standards, and you'll be proud to call it your own.
