1966 Silver Ford Mustang
Why This Vehicle is Special
The introduction of the Mustang in 1964 created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang's styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of competition including Camaro, Firebird, Cougar and others.
The 1966 Silver Mustang we have here at Skyway Classics is a C Code Engine with what we believe to be the original 289 cubic inch engine and is extremely close to factory original.
Mechanical
The 289 cubic inch V8 engine put out 200 horsepower from the factory and this one looks original with the Ford blue paint on the engine block but has an aluminum intake with a performance carb, aluminum finned valve covers, factory cast iron exhaust manifolds, and blue finned open element air cleaner assembly.
You will love grabbing the gears as it is a four-speed transmission and when you peak underneath you will see the H.D. rear end, and the clean, painted, and detailed chassis too.
It does have a custom brass radiator, modified electronics like the performance spark plug wires powered by a performance replacement distributor, and it sits in the clean and detailed engine compartment looking just as it did when it was brand new but improved.
Interior
The interior is all as it was when it was factory original with the black vinyl buckets up front and the matching rear seat, dash, and door panels, Hurst shifted floor shifter, and black carpet and floor mats..
You will like the wood and chrome Mustang sport steering wheel, instrument panel that has all the correct factory gauges, and features a 140 mph speedometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge and ammeter in five round dials, but also a white faced tachometer, accessory gauges, and aftermarket stereo system.
Exterior
On the outside, our Mustang wears the great silver paint job flowing over all the iconic body lines and accented by the full length dual white racing stripes from the lower front all the way to the bottom rear bumper.
It has the blacked out grille with the Mustang emblem prancing on the front end and out back the unique fuel filler cap on the panel between the tail lamps, with dual exhaust exiting underneath.
Conclusion
The 1966 silver Mustang with the C Code Engine we have here at Skyway Classics has great looks, outstanding performance, and these Mustangs have become as collectable as any other car, and probably more so in the future.
If you are in the market for a super clean, sporty and great looking, as well as being a well kept first generation Mustang, then look no further!
