1952 Dodge Pickup Truck

Why This Vehicle is Special

The B-series pickup trucks were sold from 1948 to 1953. The B-series trucks featured a high-visibility "pilot-house" cab with optional rear quarter windows. The engine was shifted forward and the front axle moved back on the frame for better weight distribution as well as a shorter wheelbase and the cargo bed sides were made higher to increase capacity by 40%.

The redesigned cab could seat three people and the cab was mounted on rubber mounts for an improved ride. We have a much modified 1952 Dodge “Pilot House” Pickup Truck here for sale at Skyway Classics today.

Mechanical

Our truck was found in a cornfield in Indiana and still has the original frame, front straight axle, front and rear leaf springs, and the body.

Engine wise it has a rebuilt 1975 MOPAR 360 cubic inch engine aprox. 5000 miles ago, performance cam, Edelbrock dual plane intake, carb, and valve covers, Accell plug wires, Moroso aif cleaner, MSD ignition, coil, 6AL box, and distributor, Speedway gear reduction starter, new flex plate, block hugger shorty headers, with new Magna Flow mufflers and exhaust system.

The power goes thru the B&M Megashifter and new TCI Street Fighter 727 Torquelight transmission with a 10” converter and transmission cooler and then back to the 1978 Dodge D100 10-bolt Mopar rear end, open 2:45 rear gear, new Lokar parts and disc brakes and emergency brakes, new rubber brake lines, axle bearings and seals, new 4” driveshaft, and rides on new BF Goodrich radial tires on Mopar wheels and beauty rings.

It has a custom 13 gallon aluminum fuel tank and new sending unit, new Saginaw rack and pinion power steering, Highjacker air shocks in front Gabriel shocks in the back, new Speedway wiring harness and turn signals.

Interior

The insides of this truck has a lot of charm with its two-tone cloth and vinyl bench seat, black carpet, B&M floor mounted shifter, levers, and switches on the custom dash, wood steering wheel, large aftermarket tach, new gauges, rebuilt 1950 Philco 602 vertical AM/FM radio, and Firehouse brick door panels.

Exterior

Our truck was restored in 1988 and customized in 2011 into a Firetruck theme with patina that includes patches, paint falling off, side art, axe handles on the sides of the bed, and it is sure to attract a lot of attention wherever it goes. It has new pressure treated wood and hardware in the bed, new custom taillights and brackets, custom rear bumper, and a custom front bumper from a 1954 Chevy Belair.

Conclusion

This former Street Rod Nationals Participant 1952 Dodge “Pilot House” Pickup Truck we have here for sale at Skyway Classics today is one of those trucks that everyone has to come see at a show, a conversation piece for sure. It you want to be an attraction this Dodge truck is for you.

“ Great experience. Contacted Al on car that I was interested in. I flew in and checked out car and all was well. He even fixed a few extra items that needed attention as well. He delivered car prompt and all was great. Would recommend him for any of your classic car purchases. ”
