1966 Ford Thunderbird Red With White Landau Top

Why This Car Is Special

Ford's Thunderbird went through a lot of changes through the years. From the small birds of the 50s to the Super and Turbo Coupes of the 80s. They have filled every need, be it a sports car, muscle car or luxury vehicle, and they have done it all well.

The 1966 Ford Thunderbird we have here at Skyway Classics is a much larger, higher optioned big block cruiser than its predecessors ever were and looks fantastic with its red over red and white Landau top configuration.

Mechanical

Ours has the 300 horsepower 390 cubic inch big block V8 engine under the hood and is backed by an automatic transmission shifted on the column. This Thunderbird has a very clean engine compartment with the engine wearing the factory Ford Blue paint on its air cleaner assembly, valve covers, and expansion tank, as well as having a lot of features like power steering and power brakes.

It starts, runs, and drives like new and is visually in the state that it left the factory in.

Interior

Ours has a bright and vivid red leather interior featuring dual front red leather bucket seats with an overhead and floor center console, red door panels, full red matching red leather wrap around backseats that always make these mid-sixties Thunderbirds a crowd favorite.

It has the iconic swing-away steering column with a sporty factory wood steering wheel, power locks, factory AM push-button radio, full factory gauge cluster with wood grain insets, red carpet and black/red/white floor mats, as well as miles of chrome trim that is in excellent condition everywhere you look.

These cars are comfortable and incredibly stylish on the inside and were way ahead of their time.

Exterior

The Bullet Thunderbird, as they were known, is a streamlined aerodynamic car that is painted in a delightful color scheme of red with its white Landau top and chrome emblems.

It is a large car, but the sharp edges and long low body make it look like it's moving, even when sitting still.

This Ford has white wall tires on the red painted factory steel wheels with factory Thunderbird deluxe hub caps that give it an upscale look. The red paint is in great shape, as is the chrome, trim and top.

Conclusion

The 1966 Ford Thunderbird we have here at Skyway Classics represent a style from the sixties that you can no longer get from modern cars, long low, sleek, muscular, and luxurious, all in a 2-seat luxury sports car.

These Thunderbirds don't last long on the market and this one will be no exception. If you're looking for a mid-sixties T-bird to call your own, give this car a close look.

Great Experience -
“ Great experience. Contacted Al on car that I was interested in. I flew in and checked out car and all was well. He even fixed a few extra items that needed attention as well. He delivered car prompt and all was great. Would recommend him for any of your classic car purchases. ”
