We have a restored and custom painted 1968 Pontiac Firebird convertible here at Skyway Classics That is one very distinctive drop-top muscle car classic with the numbers matching 350 cubic inch engine sitting under its hood and a black convertible top and boot.

This 1968 Pontiac Firebird convertible is a great looking muscle car and an iconic model that is refreshing to look at and you just don't see all that often.

It has had a skillful restoration with a custom metal-flake paint job that is so subtle that it almost appears stock…till you get closer.

Mechanical

Underneath the hood you will find the original code 350 cubic inch Pontiac engine nicely detailed red plumbing, cables, and wiring, red painted finned aluminum valve covers, Edelbrock performance carb and aluminum intake manifold, chrome alternator, performance screened aluminum air cleaner, power steering, power brakes, new battery, fender well mounted chrome fire extinguisher, as well as headers flowing into the dual exhaust system.

The engine starts up easily and sounds great and is mated to, what a lot of you might not know…the original three-speed manual transmission that came in most hi-po Pontiacs as the standard transmission. These were insurance beaters as the companies would charge you less than if it had a four-speed in it.

This sharp muscle car classic sits on a set of stock Pontiac Rallye wheels with chrome trim rings and PMD centers, wrapped with Uniroyal black wall Tiger Paw tires.

Interior

The interior has been refurbished but still looks very original with the twin black bucket seats and matching rear seats trimmed in black with red piping, matching black carpet and red Firebird floor mats, door panels that sit nice and flush, a center console with great looking burlwood inserts and center top dash, the stock factory dash and functional gauges in the cluster as well as accessory gauges above the console, and accessory stereo radio system.

Exterior

Our Firebird has outstanding curb appeal with the custom cherry red metal flake paint that is both subtle and exciting when you see it.

The visual impact continues with this vintage Pontiac that is just flat out appealing, and you can't help but smile when you see that pointed nose and split grille that stands out from its muscle car counterparts of the era and lets you know it's a Pontiac, the integrated front bumper, trim and badging, the power black canvas convertible top, and the painted rear deck lid spoiler.
