Camaro RS
1967 Chevrolet Red Camaro RS
Why This Car Is Special
The first-generation Chevrolet Camaro appeared in Chevrolet dealerships in September 1966 for the 1967 model year on a brand-new rear-wheel drive GM F-body platform and was available as a 2-door, 2+2 seat, hardtop or convertible, with the choice of either a straight-six or V8 engine.
We have a great R-code Bolero Red 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS with a black convertible top here at Skyway Classics.
This Camaro has been thru a complete restoration and now runs and drives better than it did in the late 60's. It has the rare Rally Sport option with the Hide-Away Head Light package as well as the original numbers matching 327 cubic inch engine that had 275 horsepower backed by a Powerglide automatic transmission.
Mechanical
Our Camaro has the right look and great power with its original numbers matching 327 cubic inch engine that had 275 horsepower backed by a Powerglide automatic transmission.
Open the hood and you will see an engine compartment that is well preserved, well detailed, and seems to be all stock with the black factory air filter housing, orange painted engine block, intake, and valve covers, factory cast iron exhaust headers, Power Brakes, the factory air conditioning in place, with the power going back through the automatic transmission to a 10-bolt rear end.
The control arm front suspension and leaf spring rear end, along with the Chevy Rallye wheels with polished trim rings, center caps, and spinners, as well as redline tires that make the car handle very nicely.
The drivetrain and underside of this car have received as much care and attention as the body and engine compartment.
Everything seems stock, in perfect working order and clean.
Interior
Open the doors and you are greeted by an awesome interior with a black twin front bucket seat interior with a center console and automatic chrome shifter, correct matching door panels and back seat, headliner, and black carpeting to have a fresh and correct OEM appearance.
It also has the three-spoke sports steering wheel, factory and accessory gauges, factory seatbelts, air conditioning, and an the stock looking factory radio.
Exterior
This Camaro has a sultry Bolero Red finish that looks great with its black convertible top, SS hood, 327 over the crossed racing flags on both sides, RS badging on the grille and gas cap, and the rear spoiler.
Those badges make quite a statement, but what shows more is the blacked-out Rally Sport grille with hidden headlights that is an icon of the first generation Camaros, especially when the headlights are tucked away behind their doors,
Conclusion
This 1967 Camaro we have here at Skyway Classics looks great, sounds great, and feels great, and with the bright Bolero red paint and black drop top, it has THE LOOK.
