1970 Chevrolet Corvette
Why This Car Is Special
The 1970 Chevrolet Corvette's had relatively low production because of a labor dispute that started in May of 1969. This dispute caused the 1969 production run to be stretched 4 months and the 1970 run to be cut short.
When most enthusiasts think about buying a Corvettes, they would like to find rare ones. Well, the 1970 Chevrolet Corvette we have here at Skyway Classics is one is very rare not only because of the low number built, but because it is a factory ordered #984 Daytona Yellow Corvette with a rare #422 green interior, and one of only 6648 Corvette convertibles built in 1970!
Mechanical
Under the hood is a fresh GM ZZ4 350 cubic inch Crate Engine that pumps out over 355 horsepower with its Edelbrock 300 CFN performance carb, aluminum performance intake, factory correct chrome open-element air cleaner, Hedman Super Comp tubular headers flowing back to the GM N-11 Off Road Exhaust, M20GM Wide Ratio 4-speed transmission, and putting all that power to the ground via a 3.70:1 Pose rear end.
It also has power steering, chrome ignition shielding, fully independent suspension, four-wheel power disc brakes, and idles with a growl but from outside the car there's still that monster rumble to let any and all know this is a modified engine.
Interior
Inside there is that great interior featuring the green twin C3 bucket with bolstering, matching door panels, center console and dash, factory Corvette sports steering wheel, the large speedo and tach, and you have a full array of auxiliary readouts just to the side.
This Corvette is comfortable too and has the AM/FM radio, tinted glass, alarm system, as well as the convertible top so you can enjoy the drop top experience.
Exterior
The bold Daytona Yellow color is a great color to have on a Stingray and it was a rare color offered for only a couple of years. It looks super flowing over the L88 hood with its offsetting ZL1 Corvette stripes, brightly highlighting the crisp lines of the shark-like nose, rounded fenders, and integrated rear spoiler.
Our '70 has nicely chromed intricate chrome bumpers, bright rocker panels, and iconic Rally wheels with chrome trim rings and center caps running 235/70/15 Raised White Letter BF Goodrich Radial TA performance tires.
Conclusion
The 1970 Chevrolet Corvette convertible we have here at Skyway Classics is absolutely one of the best classic car values you're going to find. It is very rare, superbly crafted, has plenty of power with great handling, is a great investment, and is a cool convertible.
