This 1965 Mustang Convertible we have here at Skyway Classics is a rare 1st generation 1965 with the pony car styling, a long hood and short deck that proved very popular and inspired a host of competition including the Camaro, Firebird, Cougar and others.
Our Mustang is a nicely finished model with its stunning color combo with a white convertible top.
Mechanical
The 1965 has the optional A Code engine which was a 289 cubic inch with a 4-barrel carb that was listed at 225 horsepower. It looks as original with the factory chrome open air filter and correct 289 High Performance decal on it, black Mustang valve covers, aluminum intake, black painted engine block, performance carb with an electric choke, cast iron exhaust headers, and all the correct hoses and wires, accessories, and all sitting in a factory correct engine compartment and backed up by an automatic transmission.
Interior
It has a fresh two-tone Turquoise and white “Pony” twin bucket seat Mustang interior with matching rear seat, carpet, turquoise and white door panels, factory looking dash with all the correct factory gauges as well as performance aftermarket gauges under the dash, Mustang floor mats, radio, automatic chrome shifter on the floor, great aluminum trim and shiny sill plates, and 3-spoke wood Mustang steering wheel.
The convertible top looks great as well as the white boot, detailed trunk with its grey mat, spare tire and cover.
